Where Goodyear Sits
Goodyear is about 17 miles west of downtown Phoenix, near Avondale, Litchfield Park, Tolleson and Buckeye. Its limits stretch north to Glendale and south into the Rainbow Valley. The Gila River passes through the city.
The city is named for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which farmed cotton here for tires. Goodyear won the All-America City Award in 2008.
